Are planning drawings sufficient to proceed with the Works?

If you use planning drawings for the contractor to price or build the project, you are likely to run into problems. What you may interpret from these drawings will be different to how the builder sees the project; the Planning drawings give very little information on either the detailed dimensions or the intended quality of the building.

The Building Control drawings can be used by builders as working drawings as they would ideally show ground level, dpm level, insulation U-values, timber classifications, joist levels, size and style of cills, cladding specifications etc.
